Canadian food vs Colombian food
My favorite Canadian food is lobster. I think
it is a very delicious sea food. It is the most famous food of Nova Scotia; I could have a lot of it, that was so good. I had never eaten lobster in Colombia but when
I tasted it here I liked it instantly. The foods that I miss the most from
Colombia are pandebono, green mango, soups, especially sancocho and ajiaco, and also empanadas.
I have found it different that Canadian people don’t eat soups as much as we do. In general, I
have found Canadian food really tasty.
CAMILO
The food here is very different from Colombian food. At
breakfast I have some cereal and a toast. For lunch I usually eat ham and/or
chicken sandwich. Then I get home after school and wait until supper is ready. Supper
is the strongest meal of the day so there is always a very big variety of food. My mom is a very good cook. She likes Asian food very much so she cooks noodles. Everything she
makes is delicious. She has taught me how to make cookies.
My favorite Canadian
food is peanut butter and fluff sandwich. I also love eating Dairy Queen ice cream
with Maria. I ate lobster but I didn’t like it.
Some Colombian foods I miss a lot are empanadas and arepas. In Canada supper time is very different from Colombia. Supper
here is between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. As far
as this goes I don’t see a big difference between Canadian and Colombian food.

MANUELA
I miss Colombian food. What I miss the most is meat, bread and desserts. I am tired of eating sandwiches every single day.
My family has invited me to different restaurants,
one in Halifax named Montana and the other one here in Yarmouth. The new food that
I have tasted is lobster sandwich, it’s delicious.

My experience with the food here was
very good because my father Trent is a very good cook. He likes cooking
different things such as: steak, corn, fish, salads, sandwiches, and other
delicious dishes. My favorite food of was the pizza I ate my first day in
Canada. On the second week I also liked steak BBQ with salad and corn.
ANDREA The food was very good since the first moment.
My host mom cooks very delicious food; I like everything. Every day supper is
different and I like to try new Canadian food. During the first week I was
hungry at night but then I wasn’t anymore. miércoles, 29 de mayo de 2013

Skating at the Mariners Centre
Last Thursday after school our students and
their buddies went to skate at the Mariners Centre, a multi-purpose and double ice surface arena in Yarmouth. This place is home to
the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. Everybody enjoyed and had fun for an hour
and a half. At 5 pm, after drinking a delightful cup of hot chocolate, their families picked them up to go home.

My first week in Canada has been full of new experiences. It is like starting a new life. I have met wonderful people who have always been able to help me and share a big smile. They also have given me wonderful moments. I have learned many new things at school and I have met new friends. Everybody is kind, nice and willing to give us a helping hand when we need it. This first week has been wonderful for me. I hope the rest of my stay here keeps being as amazing as it has been so far.

I am feeling great this first week in Yarmouth. People at school and my host family have been very nice with me. They include me in their different activities. The only difficult thing has been the French class.

This experience is very good. Every day you learn new things such as: English, Art, Music and other subjects. Maple grove is an excellent school because you learn, study new lessons, meet many people and make new friends.

Camilo Cuadros tuvo su primera clase de cocina en
